Winter hikes Perfectly equipped for winter wonderlands.
“Winter hikes are something very special. You rarely run into anyone, and the natural sights you see are simply amazing. When I think about the footwear I need, comfort is naturally a priority. But the height of the upper and the lining material are also very important. When I set off on a hike through the snow, I’ll need a higher upper with an insulating lining. But if I’ll just be hiking through the woods, all I need is a normal MID-CUT boot with a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane.”

No matter whether you are scaling a steep mountain or strolling from café to café along chilly city streets of town – GORE-TEX footwear will always keep your feet pleasantly dry. Your footwear will always be waterproof and provide optimal breathability.
Vibram® Arctic Grip
Vibram® Arctic Grip is a state-of-the-art sole technology. The sole is made of a special rubber compound that is designed to deliver high performance and quality. The sole is designed to produce good grip on snowy surfaces.
The midsole is the leading contributor to the footwear’s rolling properties and cushioning. This midsole is made of a specially developed plastic: LOWA DynaPU®. The special feature: It retains its restoring force even when it’s pressed together thousands of times. As a result, the finished boots will maintain their exceptional cushioning properties even after you have walked many kilometres in them.
With the LOWA-MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole provides the very best comfort. This three-dimensional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and supports it when the shoe wearer ventures across an uneven surface. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a SUPPORT FRAME.
To provide effective cushioning and improved comfort, the sole of is bonded to the upper in a technically demanding injection process. The upper boot is placed into a specially designed mould. Various layers of PU-foam padding are then poured into it. In the process, the sole and upper are bonded together.
Insulation LOWA winter shoes are outfitted with insulation made of GORE-TEX warm lining or PrimaLoft®.
Comfortable Comfortable footwear is essential for long distances covered on foot. This is why LOWA places such a high priority on exact fit, something that is perfectly designed to handle short or long strolls.
Stability To ensure sufficient grip during hikes, both the sole and the upper should be stable.
